New Government Wants Vertically Integrated Fuel and Power Companies.

Coal Minister Segey Tulub said his ministry had started work on the legal framework for the privatization of Ukrainian coal mines. Tulub added that power generation and coal companies could be combined into vertically integrated structures similar to SCM’s Donbass Fuel and Energy Company. Alexander Paraschiy: Look for the privatization of coal mines to begin in 2007, while generation companies will start a bit later, in 2007-2008, after their debt clearing process is finished.
