Odesaoblenergo privatization called off over technicality

Ukraine’s State Property Fund said yesterday that it called off the privatization of Odesaoblenergo, scheduled for May 19, because it has not received the shares from the National Energy Company of Ukraine (NC ECU). The NC ECU is the holder of all the state’s stakes in Ukrainian electricity companies. Alexander Paraschiy: The cancellation of the tender means the SPF will be obligated to announce it again once month in advance of an actual auction, meaning that Odesaoblenergo can be privatized no earlier than June 19, 2009.
