Parliament approves committees

Ukraine’s parliament approved on Dec. 25 the launch of 29 committees and one special commission (the previous convocation had 28 committees). Majority MPs secured 18 committees for themselves, including committees for agriculture and land; construction, city planning and utilities; foreign affairs; national defense, as well as a special commission on privatization. SCM owner Rinat Akhmetov has influence over the critical budget and industrial policy committees.
