Pivnichny Iron Ore raises concentrate output 10% yoy in 2009

Pivnichny Iron Ore (UX: SGOK UK) increased production of iron ore concentrate by 10% yoy to 13.6 mln mt and pellets by 1% yoy to 9.5 mln mt in 2009, according to preliminary data reported this week by Metal Courier. The company began ramping up output since the beginning of the year and put into operation modernized #1 and #2 concentrate workshops in July, which allowed the plant to increase production of concentrate by 70 ths mt/month to 1.25 mln mt/month. Pivnichny Iron Ore plans to manufacture 14.2 mln mt of concentrate in 2010 and 9.9 mln mt of pellets.
