PPI Surges 23.3% in 2007

According to the State Statistics Committee, the producer price index jumped 23.3% in 2007. Prices for products in the mining industry rose 27.3%. Inflation in manufacturing turned out to be in line with the overall PPI, totaling 23.2%, while prices for utilities climbed 20.9%. In December PPI inflation amounted to 3.2%.
