President could request Russia remove Ukrainian steel quotas

According to Andriy Honcharuk, deputy head of the Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine, the country could request Russia terminate or expand quotas for Ukrainian rolled steel products during negotiations on Russia’s accession to the WTO. Honcharuk said that “Ukrainian steel industry experts are preparing a range of bids and recommendations that will be soon presented to the Russian delegation.” Russian quotas are currently in effect on rebar (330 ths mt), cold-rolled steel (200 ths mt) and Interpipe-produced steel pipes (419 ths mt).
