Presidential party slips in poll

Presidential party slips in poll

21 October 2021

The presidential Servant of the People Party slipped
in the latest Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) poll to the
level of former president Poroshenko’s European Solidarity Party. The poll,
released on Oct. 19, shows that European Solidarity slipped from 17.4% in
mid-September to 15.7% in 15-18 October, while the Servant of the People Party
slipped from 20% to 15.5% of those who knew who they would vote for.

Furthermore, the Fatherland Party rose from 10.8% to
13.6% approval and the pro-Russian Opposition Platform – For Life Party rose
from 10.8% to 13.0%.

James Hydzik: Only the
Servant of the People rating breaks new ground in recent KIIS polls. The drop
coincides with decreased support for President Zelensky, and while the party
may lose support due to its own actions in the parliament, it’s rise will
depend on his popularity. There is little coming in the very near future to use
to pull the incumbent party’s rating up significantly, unless passing a budget
with a deficit that fits the IMF’s vision could count.
