Rada Asks SPF To Cut Additional Requirements From LTPL Tender

16 October 2008

On Friday, the Rada’s privatization committee recommended that the State Property Fund (SPF) remove the additional requirements for companies planning to bid for Luhanskteplovoz (LTPL: HOLD). The Rada’s request comes on the heels of a press release published last week by AvtoKrAZ (KRAZ: BUY), which claimed the additional requirements limited the number of participants and favoured one bidder. Olha Pankiv: We applaud the move, dropping the stipulation that the companies either, use locomotives in their business, have the ability to provide the company’s main inputs or have experience in the production of locomotives, will allow KRAZ and a company connected to Privat Group, Dniprovagonmash, to compete in the tender and should raise the final price, however, Transmasholding is still in the driver’s seat.
