The finance committee of Ukraine’s parliament has
worked through all 16,000-plus amendments to the IMF-required banking resolution
bill (the so-called anti-Kolomoisky bill), Yaroslav
Zhelezniak, an MP of the Voice faction and committee member, wrote on his blog
on Apr. 27. The bill can be voted upon in one or two weeks, confirmed the same
day finance committee head Danylo Hetmantsev of The People’s Servant faction.
He said the Rada should gather to vote for the bill’s review under expedited
procedure, after which the committee should gather to prepare the draft for this
expedited review in the session hall, where it can be voted on in one or two
days. So far, no Rada sessions have been scheduled for the bill’s review.
Alexander Paraschiy: Thus far,
it looks possible that the bill will become law by mid-May, which will enable
the IMF to sign a new memorandum of cooperation with Ukraine.
