Parliament is still deadlocked and a crowd of several thousand is outside the building, with most calling for the appointment of Regions party leader Viktor Yanukovich as prime minister, while some are calling for new elections. One of Our Ukraine’s leaders, Roman Bezsmertny, said talks will continue but the party isn’t ready to consider joining Yanukovich in a coalition. Bezsmertny said Our Ukraine would not take part in any parliamentary votes until July 17 (Monday), which Our Ukraine and President Yushchenko contend is the earliest date when the Orange coalition can be legally disbanded and a new coalition formed. Tom Warner: We are still expecting a compromise in which the current prime minister, Yuri Yekhanurov, stays on with a mostly Regions cabinet, but if Yanukovich refuses to back down, there could be a new vote.
