Rada unblocks large privatizations

Ukraine’s lawmakers voted on March 30 to allow the privatizations
of large enterprises, Interfax-Ukraine reported the same day. The preparation
and sale of the objects of large privatization (control stakes in companies
with a book value of assets above UAH 250 mln) was suspended in March 2020 by a
law that introduced quarantine measures due to the pandemic.

Alexander Paraschiy: According to the state budget for 2021, Ukraine is planning to receive
UAH 12 bln in proceeds from privatization, which is impossible to do without
selling large enterprises. Now that the process has been unblocked, the
privatization plan for this year becomes realistic.
