Raiffeisenbank (Ukraine) May Acquire Local Bank

Raiffeisenbank (Ukraine), one of Ukraine’s ten largest banks, wants to expand its branch network to 450 units throughout Ukraine by 2008 and has said it may acquire a local bank for this purpose. Concorde Capital: AvalBank is the largest Ukrainian bank in terms of capitalization and with 1,400 branches is the most probable option for Raiffeisen. Recently Raiffeisenbank has been granted the right to conduct audit and due diligence procedures for Aval.
