Razumkov Centre published the latest polls on public
attitudes toward President Volodymyr Zelensky on Aug 17. The polls show a more
positive assessment than in the poll conducted in March 2021. In particular,
men, those aged between 30 and 60, and those with below average education
viewed the president more positively than in March. Results for those aged
18-29 were net positive for all criteria except for his Professional rating
which was still viewed negatively by 8.7% more of those respondents. Ratings
among Zelensky’s supporter remained essentially in the two surveys.
The poll also explored the possibility of Zelensky
running for a second term. Respondents with an opinion were generally negative,
at 48%. Another 21.9% of respondents were positive, 18.5% were indifferent, and
11.6% claimed that it was difficult to answer.
James Hydzik: Zelensky’s ratings improved as more Ukrainians got back to work. As
for the view toward his possible second presidential campaign, the 48% who view
it negatively also seem to put that possibility in terms of his opponent
already, as the Centre’s previous polling shows Zelensky beating potential
competitors by 2-1 margins or better.
