Regal Petroleum spuds MEX-106 well in Poltava on Jan. 11

Regal Petroleum (RPT LN) announced on Monday that it spudded the MEX-106 well on its Mekhediviska-Golotvshinska gas and condensate field in Poltava region on January 11. This well is the first to be drilled with new equipment contracted from Saipem Ukraine, a subsidiary of Saipem SpA. MEX-106 is planned to be drilled to a total depth of 6200 m; the anticipated drilling duration for the well is six months, significantly quicker than previous drilling times using Ukrainian rigs. Regal said it plans to spud a second well, SV-58 at its Svyrydivske field (also Poltava region), in the near future.
