State Property Fund Acting Head Dmitry Parfenenko said yesterday that about 10 companies have expressed an interest in privatizing Ukrtelecom (UTEL). He said that no definitive decision has been made regarding the conducting a privatization tender for the state’s 67.79% stake in the country’s monopoly fixed-line telephone operator. Parfenenko has previously stated that contenders for the stake include the Bank of New York, UBS, Alfa Capital, Nomura, Deutsche Telekom, Turkcell and Magyar Telecom.
