SPFU Asks Court To Return 50%+1 Stake Of NFER.

24 January 2008

The State Property Fund (SPFU) asked the Kyiv Court to order Ukrsotsbank to transfer the 50%+1 stake in Nikopol Ferroalloy (NFER: SELL) held by the bank to the SPFU. Concorde Capital: We believe this is the end of the story for Prydniprovya’s control of NFER, however, a new story is about to begin. We believe the government will try to get the maximum return from NFER’s re-privatization, inspired by the Kryvorizhstal tender (KSTL: BUY) and there are a lot of questions concerning who will participate. Currently, the most obvious candidates are Privat group, Alexander Abramov and Viktor Vekselberg, though we expect to see other global players fight for 10% of the world ferroalloy market.
