Turboatom (TATM UK) installed new electricity lines, with a capacity of 100 kV, in December, according to a press release on Friday. The move qualifies the company for 25% lower electricity fees, the company said. Turboatom estimated that 50% of its energy costs was accounted for by electricity. In 2009, Turboatom consumed 49.7 ths. kWh, worth about UAH 26 mln. Yegor Samusenko: We estimate electricity costs constituted 7% of Turboatom’s total costs in 2009. Thus, the new electricity lines would allow the company to decrease its COGS by 1.75% beginning in 2010, which would result in a gross margin increase by ~1.3 pp.
