In a press release on Friday, Turboatom (TATM) said that it signed new equipment agreements last week during a trip to South America. The company will deliver 14 hydro-turbine impeller replacements to the Salto Grande hydroelectric power plant on the Argentina-Uruguay border. Turboatom also said it would participate in a tender to deliver a 159 mW hydro-turbine to Brazil’s Odebrecht for use at its Chuido hydro-electric power plant in Argentina. In addition, Turboatom said it agreed to deliver 300 mW turbines to two HPPs controlled by Brazil’s Furnas. According to the company, both Brazil and Argentina, which are planning to develop nuclear power plants, expressed an interest in Turboatom being involved in the projects as an equipment supplier.
