Tymoshenko To Challenge Gas Agreement?

Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has announced plans to challenge the recent Russia – Ukraine gas deal in court. According to Tymoshenko the agreement contradicts current legislation. The leader of the Yulia Tymoshenko Block has posted her suit on her party’s website and urged other Ukrainians to take the government to court. Concorde Capital:  At first glance Tymoshenko’s announcement appears to be no more than a political campaign stunt, however the government’s response was a bit surprising. Current Prime Minister Yurii Yekhanurov said yesterday that he feels Tymoshenko’s opinion deserves to be heard, and added that her experience running Unified Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) makes her an expert in this field.
