The UEFA Executive Committee confirmed Kyiv would co-host Euro-2012 matches, in addition to the Polish cities Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk. In a statement on its website, the UEFA said Kyiv would be the site for group matches, quarter finals and a semi-final – but stipulated that its status as the final host city is in jeopardy unless it meets specific criteria in terms of its stadium, airport, regional transportation and accommodation by Nov. 30, 2009. Three other Ukrainian candidate host cities – Donetsk, Kharkiv and Lviv were also given until Nov. 30 to make progress in the same areas in order to be confirmed as host cities for any matches. Designated reserve cities in Ukraine and Poland (Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Chorzow and Krakow) were not retained.
