The Union of European Football Association executive committee, in a unanimous decision, gave its final approval at a meeting on December 10-11 for Ukrainian cities Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv and Donetsk to co-host European Football Championship 2012 group matches, with the final being set for the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The announcement ends months of speculation about the candidacy of Ukrainian cities, several of which have stumbled on progress on preparation efforts. Polish co-hosting cities were confirmed as Warsaw, Wroclaw, Roznan and Gdansk. The official logo, mascot and slogan for the event are due to be announced today in a ceremony in Kyiv which is to be attended by UEFA President Michel Platini, representatives of both the Ukrainian and Polish football associations and the eight host cities.
