Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said in a video announcement on May 16 that the main priority of his Cabinet will be renewing economic growth. Specifically, he vowed to address corruption in the customs service, remove barriers in the nut trade among other spheres, boost domestic natural gas production, break up monopolies, and invest in road construction and repair.
Zenon Zawada: The economy is recovering without any special effort by the Cabinet, but could improve even further if Groysman fulfills his pledges. His tenure as prime minister will be considered a success if he fulfills even these modest goals that he outlined. Unfortunately, the limited success of prior prime ministers has set the bar quite low.
