Ukraine ranks 104 out of 141 countries for doing business, Forbes reports

16 November 2012

Ukraine ranks 104 out of 141 countries examined by Forbes magazine as part of its Best Countries for Business survey released on Nov. 14. The Ukrainian business climate differs little from the Russian Federation, which ranked at 105. Post-Soviet nations outperforming Ukraine included Kazakhstan (70th), Armenia (77th), Moldova (92nd), and the Baltic republics, which all ranked in the top 40.

Zenon Zawada: The Forbes survey is the latest confirmation that the Ukrainian government has yet to implement reforms to attract foreign investment and support domestic entrepreneurs. In fact, Ukraine’s business community has been voicing concern about recent and pending legislation that will make conditions for doing business even harder than they already are.
