Ukraine vaccinates 100,000 against COVID in one day

6 January 2022

Ukraine’s Health Ministry recorded 104,844 COVID
vaccinations on Jan. 5. The number includes 70,164 second vaccinations and 29,997
first shots, interfax.com.ua reported on Jan. 6.

Furthermore, the Health Ministry recorded 6,632 cases
of COVID-19 on Jan. 5. This is a peak for the year to date, but still a drop
from the 7,029 new cases recorded on Dec. 31.

James Hydzik: The press is making hay out of the fact that the Jan. 5 figure is a
peak, while ignoring that the overall trend does show a slow decline. Most
likely, Ukraine is approaching a low before the wave of omicron strain passes
through the country.
