Ukraine’s average corn yield rises 31% y-o-y

Ukraine harvested 14.1 mln mt of corn as of October 28 (from 68% of the estimated planted area), according to data released by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food on Friday. The reported average corn yield was 5.76 mt per ha, up 31% y-o-y. The total grain harvest reached 49.6 mln mt as of October 28. Yegor Samusenko: Assuming the yield on corn for the rest of the harvest remains close to the figures reported on Friday, Ukraine’s total grain harvest could reach 55 mln mt. This estimate is above the latest forecasts for Ukraine’s corn harvest from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food was 54 mln mt (on October 27) and from the USDA was 52 mln mt (on October 12).
