Ukraine’s richest got noticeably richer, according to Forbes annual ranking of the world’s billionaires published yesterday. Rinat Akhmetov, the businessman behind Ukraine’s largest company System Capital Management, retained the title as Ukraine’s richest (#39 in the world), with an estimated net worth of USD 16.0 bln, up from USD 5.2 bln in 2010 and USD 1.8 bln in 2009. East One and Interpipe beneficiary Viktor Pinchuk’s net worth was clocked at USD 3.3 bln (#2 in Ukraine, #336 in the world), vs. USD 3.1 bln in 2010. The two top men behind Privat Group, Ihor Kolomoyskiy and Gennadiy Bogolyubov, were both pegged at USD 2.5 bln (#3 & #4 in Ukraine, #459 in the world). Konstantin Zhevago, Ferrexpo’s largest shareholder, was listed at USD 2.4 bln (#5 in Ukraine, #488 in the world). Three Ukrainians made the list for the first time: Yuriy Kosiuk of MHP at USD 1.5 bln, Andriy Verevskiy of Kernel Holding at USD 1.1 bln, and Oleg Bakhmatyuk of Avangard at USD 1.0 bln.
