Ukrzernoprom Agro plants 53,210 ha in fall campaign

Ukrzernoprom Agro/MCB Agricole (FSE: 4GW1 GR) said yesterday in a press release that it planted a total of 53,210 ha (-1.6% y-o-y) in its fall sowing campaign. The company management expects y-o-y winter crop yield improvements as 76% of rapeseed and 23% of wheat were sown on fallow land. Ruslan Patlavskyy: The 1.6% y-o-y decline in the area of winter crops puts more weight on the company’s spring planting campaign, although we conservatively expect the total 2010/11 planted area to remain flat y-o-y at 80,000 ha.
