Universalna Insurance Sees Premiums From Individuals Double In 2006

Universalna Insurance (SKUN), Ukraine’s only listed insurer, increased premiums from individuals by 2.1 times in 2006 to USD 2.3 mln. The company’s income from individuals also doubled in 2006 and reached USD 18 mln. Overall the company’s insurance payments grew 18% yoy in 2006 to USD 34 mln. Last month, SKUN announced plans to place another 16% stake of the company among foreign investors. In December Concorde Capital placed a 15% stake in Universalna for USD 11.3 mln. Universalna Insurance is part of the Universal Group, which also includes Galnaftogaz (GLNG: HOLD).
