Verkhovna Rada increases 2008 state budget revenues by 4.9%, expenses by 5.6%

Verkhovna Rada voted for increasing 2008 state budget incomes by 4.9% to UAH 235.8 bln and expenses by 5.6% to UAH 253 bln. The incomes have been increased based on enhanced expectations of VAT incomes, as well as utilization of funds on the treasury account and above-target incomes of the NBU. Increase in expenses stipulated compensation of UAH 3.2 bln of the difference between price of imported gas and gas sold to the population to the Naftogaz of Ukraine. The expenses also envisage increase in pensions to miners.
