Vienna Insurance Buys Ukrainian Insurance Group

According to Bloomberg, Vienna Insurance Group, Austria’s largest insurance company, has purchased a 62% stake in Ukrainian Insurance Group. Further details of the deal were not disclosed. UIG reported 1H07 net revenues of USD 13.7 mln, a net loss of USD 1.8 mln and gross premiums of USD 18.0 mln. It has 90 branches spread throughout Ukraine.
