Washington mulls sending Iron Dome to Ukraine

Washington mulls sending Iron Dome to Ukraine

15 September 2021

The draft U.S. defense bill may include an amendment
regarding the transfer of air and missile defense systems, politico.com
reported on Sept. 14. Politico writes that the House Armed Services Committee’s
version of the 2022 defense policy bill is worded in such a way as to open the
transfer of Iron Dome anti-missile systems which are currently in use in
Israel. The U.S. had bought two such systems.

James Hydzik: Pro-Ukrainian sentiment is still high in Congress in both parties, and
there is a chance that the inclusion will carry forward. The Russian reaction,
almost guaranteed to be hysterical considering the reaction to the even the
proposal of placing anti-missile systems in Poland and Romania, will be a test
of the Biden administration’s resolve.
