President Viktor Yuschenko traveled to Donetsk on Friday to meet with local authorities and regional business leaders. In a speech that was aired live on Ukraina TRK television Yuschenko said that he wanted to ?bury the hatchet? and that he held no grudge against Donetsk for things that happened in the past. Yuschenko said the future of the Donbas and the Ukrainian economy are connected and needed each other to be successful. At the same time however, Yuschenko slammed the regional authorities for behaving ?immorally.? “The power has to be moral – [but] this is not the case in Donetsk. I don’t mean to be insulting; this is just a statement of a fact. The Donetsk authorities do not understand their purpose, they want to restore clannish relationships, they maintain relations which discredit you,” Interfax reported Yuschenko as saying.
