Yushchenko orders USD 8.5 bln put into stabilization fund

President Viktor Yushchenko yesterday signed a decree that approves the allocation of UAH 50 bln (USD 8.5 bln) into the stabilization fund in 2009, with the first UAH 10 mln (USD 1.7 mln) placed into the fund in 1Q09. Cash for the fund is to come from proceeds from the privatization and bond sales, lease payments on state property, and dividends and profits from state companies.
