Yushchenko Pushing For Further Privatization.

Yesterday, President Viktor Yushchenko vetoed a law that would have banned the privatization of several companies including Ukrnafta (UNAF: HOLD), Odessa Portside, and Turboatom (TATM: SELL). Concorde Capital: Following the successful privatization of Kryvorizhstal (KSTL: SELL) the government is poised to make further privatizations. Last week PM Yuri Yekhanurov said that he wanted the management of all state controlled enterprises reviewed by the end of 2005, so that the government could decide which companies should be privatized. In addition, the President said the government should arrange the privatization of more companies in the near future and that Ukrtelecom (UTEL: HOLD) was first on his list of companies he believed should be privatized.
