The government approved a plan for the reconstruction of unit #9 at Zakhidnenergo’s (ZAEN: BUY) Burshtyn power plant. According to the plan, production capacity of the power unit will increase from 190 MW to 206 MW and the lifespan of the power unit will be prolonged by 15 years. In addition, a modern filter will be installed in the unit. The project is expected to take 1.5 years, the total cost is USD 28 mln. Concorde Capital: According to Cabinet decree #648-p of September 2004, the project is expected to be financed by electricity consumers, via special surcharges to ZAEN’s electricity tariff. We expect the decree to be executed, so that ZAEN can obtain cheap capital for its reconstruction project.
