Electricity Tariffs To Decrease For 25 State-Owned Coal Mines

27 June 2008

Yesterday the National Electricity Regulation Commission (NREC) adopted a decision to treat 25 coal mines as 1-class voltage electricity consumers. This implies a decrease of electricity tariffs for these mines by 25%, from 70 USD/MWh to 53 USD/MWh. Alexander Paraschiy: The difference in tariffs will be cross-subsidized by other industrial consumers. This cross-subsidization will cause about 0.5% increase in electricity prices for all Ukrainian industrial consumers.
