Supreme Court Acknowledges Legality Of Azot Severodonetsk Closed JSV.

24 November 2008

The ruling cancels the previous decisions of the Pechersk and Appeals courts, which ordered the company?s assets returned to the state. Concorde Capital: The court?s decision comes on the heels of President Yushchenko?s announcement that Kryvorizhstal would be the only re-privatization case in the country. During her tenure, former-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko pushed for the re-privatization of Azot Severodonetsk, which was included in the government?s list of companies to be re-privatized even before the Supreme Court made its decision. This appears to be the end of the road, however, depending on changes in the political climate there could be more legal maneuvering in the future.
