Tymoshenko’s Government Bans Odessa Portside Plant Privatization

According to Interfax, the new Tymoshenko-led government banned the regulation that would envision Odessa Portside Plant privatization. On August 8, 2007, the previous government adopted the regulation, which implied a privatization of 99.52% for an initial price of UAH 2.5 bln (USD 0.5 bln), however in October President Yushchenko disaffirmed the government’s decision.
