The moratorium on agricultural land sales could be prolonged until the end of 2012 (it is currently due to expire at the end of 2011), the deputy chairman of the State Agency on Land Resources announced yesterday. The agency expects the final draft of the Law on the Land Market to be submitted to parliament by December 8 and to be voted on by January 12, 2012. The final decision on when the moratorium would be lifted is up to parliament, but the official said his agency would need time to amend legislation before actual land trade could start.
